Kristi Galante

When Kristi Galante, owner of Galante Pilates, started practicing Pilates in 2004, she immediately felt a change in her overall strength and flexibility.

Her interest in fitness and athleticism began during her time on the junior tennis circuit in high school, and though repetitive stress injuries ultimately forced her to quit competitive tennis, she has continued her lifelong enthusiasm for exercise and physical well-being. Kristi always enjoyed group exercise classes, including Pilates, and was thrilled to discover Les Mills BodyPump while living in Louisiana. Her love of music and rhythm drew her to the class; the camaraderie with the other participants made her keep coming back. After teaching middle and high school choral music and singing in professional choral ensembles for several years in Louisiana and Texas, her husband and two boys moved to the Pacific Northwest where she found a new passion in teaching group exercise classes.

Kristi was drawn to the Body Arts and Science International (BASI) Teacher Training program because of the comprehensive curriculum, breadth of repertoire, and high expectations of the students. She was so fascinated and energized by the research-based system that she completed the program—over 450 hours of classes, observations and practical teaching—in less than 9 months, far exceeding the expectations of the BASI faculty and certification adjudicators.

Kristi has a passion for helping clients to improve their quality of life through movement and a balanced connection between the mind and body. She listens, explains the purpose behind assigned exercises, and provides expert feedback and positive encouragement. Clients leave their sessions with the knowledge and body awareness to apply the physical skills to their movement in everyday life.

Kristi holds Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music (Choral Conducting) degrees from Louisiana State University. Since moving to Gig Harbor in 2008, Kristi has also completed her certification in Les Mills BODYPUMP™, CXWORX™, and BODYFLOW™ classes, as well as TRX and PiYo.
